How effective was your use of street art at improving the signifier?
I think my work improved the signifier by making it fun, to say in the very least. By referencing a well-known song, I believe that now instead of standing in the elevator to go to your floor, the song would now be playing in your head and makes the trip a little more exciting.
What are you happy with about your interactive photo?
I am happy with how it came out. I feel as if I got a chance to put more of myself into this project unlike the last one, and I really enjoyed coming up with an idea to go along with my song reference. Whenever I hear the song “The Final Countdown,” it makes me think of an epic battle scene or an apocalyptic movie, but perhaps with a comedic twist, so I wanted to include Godzilla in there because I feel as if it would ease off from the gas mask, the mushroom cloud and the radioactive sign.
What would you have done differently if you had more time/skills?
I think I would have taken some more time to edit my image. I feel like it’s a little busy, because I was rushed for time, and I feel like the cutout idea was a little juvenile. I would have liked to do this with chalk, but again, I didn’t have too much time to put into this. If I had more artistic skills, I would have loved to create every image on my own, but seeing as I don’t, the clip art saved me here.
